I joined Conner, Cameron, Mom and Dad at their home for a few family photos, plus some fun images of the boys having fun. I love using the families home or yard as a background, because we all work so hard to create a wonderful environment for our kids to grow up in and it’s great to capture that in the family photo. For this session, I used a beautiful tree in their front yard as the backdrop for the family photo, then we moved to the back and got some of the kids playing. I really enjoyed editing this session because each boy’s personality really came through!

Happy Birthday to little Lynzi! She visited me in the studio for some birthday photos and we ended up outside playing in the grass on a beautiful day. I am not one to use cheezy props and I often encourage clients to bring in meaningful items that a child has at home. In this case, Lynzi’s obsession was with the dandilion seeds that were growing all over the place. It worked great! You will see them in many of the photos, as she used them as her “flowers”. Getting a 2-year-old to stay where the light is best isn’t easy, and I have to give props to auntie and grandma who did a great job doing just that while making sure that Lynzi’s “flowers” were never fully empty!

Mike and Kate are getting married this October. I was so disappointed that their date was not available, so I don’t get to join them on their wedding day, but we took the opportunity this week to take some unique engagement photos. The three of us spent over an hour at a local carnival after sunset. I love the lights, glow, and energy of a carnival and it was so much fun to spend time with Mike and Kate! After dark romantic images are a sort of singature item of mine at each wedding (I call them the “always kiss me goodnight” shots), and I really enjoyed getting to do an entire after dark engagement session.

Will and Jack visited me in my studio for a portrait session this week. Lots of energy and curiosity always makes photographing 2 year olds fun, and both boys did great – we even got some stellar shots of them with mom! The most interesting thing in the studio to little Will was my tripod, so I let him play with it for a few minutes while sneaking in some close-ups. Being a mom has definitely changed the way I photograph kids!

Congrats to Justine and Jeff, who are having their album delivered this week! Their wedding was on the north shore with a view of the harbor, boats, and an incredible sunset. Their album is a matted-style traditional album, showcasing images of their bridal party and family, and even a few under the umbrella showing off just how romantic a little rain on your wedding day can be.
This matted album has fine-art black pages with a white liner (frame around each image). Here are just a few spreads….

Congrats to Justine and Jeff – and thanks for being great clients!
I had the pleasure of photographing three adorable kids from a couple towns over. The older ones were so patient and the baby was as cute as can be! Anyone knows that getting three kids in one photo isn’t the easiest thing in the world (what an understatement!) but these guys did great, and mom was thrilled! Can’t wait to see them again next year!

JLM Studio has created a line of new sample albums! They show off a few weddings from the 2009 season, as well as the new line of albums that I will now be the standard for JLM Studio. These albums come in beautiful leathers, as well as wonderful Japanese Silk covers and are completely custom to your wedding style and colors. The best part about these albums is the newer, modern square corners on the covers and pages paired with the traditional hand-made binding that makes each one a timeless piece you will love.

These albums are not just for weddings! They can be ordered as smaller custom books with cute covers filled with photos of your child’s newborn or birthday photo session, or a slightly larger album that holds their JLM Studio photos from the whole first year! As about JLM Studio’s first year plan when you book your little one’s session.
A part of a growing line of fine-art custom products, JLM Studio is now offering these beautiful hand-made frames! This one was ordered my Nolan’s mommy to go above his changing table in the nursery. There are over 100 colors to choose from, along with 5 trim styles and infinite size options. What I love most about this frame line is that you can customize the look to be a centerpiece in a formal space, beach-theme colors for a cape house, create a casual look or choose a whimsical style for a children’s room. You will end up with a one-of-a-kind piece that you will enjoy for years!

Here is Caiden, all dressed up for Easter! He put all that effort in to stay clean so afterwards we decided to take off the fancy shirt and tie and get messy coloring some eggs. A few photos from the morning…

Way back in early 2008 I met with Jessica, the bride to be, and her sister. We had a great talk and I was so honored to photograph Jessica and Steve’s wedding in Topsfield in August of 2008. The family was so much fun to work with, but I could have never imagined how much time I would spend with them in the near future! Since then I have photographed the weddings of both of Steve’s siblings and grown quite fond of this great family. The photo below was taken at the youngest sister’s wedding this February (see Katelyn and Trevor’s photos below). It was fun to see everyone again, and I was so honored to be seated at the head table with mom and dad!
