Stolen Kisses

After the vows are said, the meal has ended and the guests have danced the night away, I always like to get that one last shot.  I use the moon or a streetlight or whatever ambiance your evening has to create one last image.  Typically, as you can see below, this ends up being a moment appropriate for a kiss.  If you know my work, you know that I don’t like a whole lot of kissing.  I love seeing the expression on the couples face in my images and that’s hard to do when they are lip-locked.  But for this one, end-of-the-evening moment on film, a kiss is more than appropriate!

And sometimes the bride and groom are having so much fun inside, they can’t bear leaving, even for a moment.  Check out this sky – unreal!  Thankfully a bridesmaid (who had been having a really good time at the reception!) jumped in for a shot with this incredible sky.  A pretty fun way to end the evening!

Aldrich Mansion

Aldrich Mansion is one of my absolut favorites.  This past October I had the pleasure of working with Erica Pelaccia of The Farmer and the Queen Photography on a wedding at the Mansion.  The clouds looked ominous, but we took a chance and went (by bus!) down to the waters edge with the whole crew for portraits.  It didn’t rain and the sky gave us some beautiful light for portraits.

Check out the seating cards below – some of the most creative and personal I have seen.  The bride spent over a year scouring antique shops to hand-select a pin for each of the women at the event, and then used it as their seating cards.  It looked beautiful on the display but it was stunning as each woman in the room wore her broach throughout the reception.

Jerry and Jason

This wedding was unlike any other in so many ways, but the biggest one is that the groom has been a very close friend of mine for over 10 years.  I always get the warm-and-fuzzies when I see clients so happy an in love – how could you not?  But I have to admit I think this is the first wedding I have become a little misty  :)

Jerry is an artist who worked tirelessly all summer on the color, details, and setup of this wedding.  Guests were treated to a truly a one-of-a-kind event, with custom designed centerpieces, handmade decorations and even a hand painted rug just for the wedding!   But most importantly the energy of the day was fantastic. Congratulations Jerry and Jason!

Lisa and Daniel

Lisa and Daniel were wed in a sun-drenched ceremony at the end of a long pier in Hull, MA.  Their cocktail hour was just steps away at the SeaDog’s Bay View Room and had the backdrop of one of the best sunsets I have seen all year!  Breathtaking!  This was a new location for me and I am definitely looking forward to going back.  From the unique ceremony site to the fabulous deck overlooking the water and the open post-and-beam New England style reception room that is filled with natural light, this place was a lot of fun to photograph!  www.seadoghull.com

Newport Wedding

Here are a few of my favorites from Shannon and Sean’s Newport wedding last weekend.  What a beautiful day!  The ceremony at Trinity Church was heartfelt and historic, after that we went to a few locations for portraits and then off to Regatta Place for the reception complete with rockin’ band and ice cream bar!  The evening finished with Regatta Place’s boat, the Aurora, taking guests (all decked out in their newport-boating-best!) on a sunset sail – how romantic is that?  Congrats to Shannon and Sean!
